Fabulous Oxford Thames - Four Pillars Hotel in Oxford

Newgate Travel recently visited the 4 star Oxford Thames Four Pillars Hotel in Oxford.  The Hotel is set in 30 acres of tranquil landscapped grounds set back from the main road. The hotel's location offers peace and tranquility away from the stresses and strains of every day life, but is only a few miles away from the shops and bars and restaurants of Oxford City Centre.  Thus a visit to the Oxford Thames - Four Pillars Hotel - provides whatever your choice of weekend.

The hotel's main reception area is warm and inviting with huge wooden beams across high ceilings with a welcoming fire surrounded by leather armchairs and sofas.    There is a gallery that looks over the main lounge area which is exclusively for hotel guests use. The hotel's bar is located just at the end of the main lounge and under the gallery with a good choice of drinks to unwind over after a long day or enjoy pre dinner.

The classic rooms and standard rooms are large and comfortable with ample space and facilities and the hotel is currently nearly completed on 22 new rooms and conservatory being built on site, due to open in Spring 2013.

The onsite Leisure centre - Jeromes offers excellent swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi plus SPA packages. Gym and beauty treatments all available at the hotel.  The changing rooms for Jeromes Leisure centre could do with a little upgrade.

The restaurant is warm and inviting both for breakfast and for dinner but menu and food is what sets this hotel apart from the rest. The standard of choice on the menu, along with presentation and quality of food is on par with most London Hotel restaurants.   The service was impeccable and dinning a real pleasure.  This hotel should congratulate and hold on to its Chef!

Adare Manor Hotel -Quite Simply Stunning!

Adare Manor Hotel & Golf resort in Co.Limerick, Ireland is quite simply stunning.  It has to be one of Ireland's most spellbinding castle hotels, steeped in exotic history and surrounded by medieval ruins, its 840 acre demesene is home to beautiful parklands. With superb trout fishing on the river Maique, and a renowned 18 hole championship golf course.   Mysteriously, the Manor is laid out as a Calendar House. 365 stained windows and 52 chimmneys mark the annual tally of days and weeks.

The formal gardens are flanked by mature, tall coppices and the steady slide of the river Maigue, with the garden running from the southern aspect of the Manor, stretching towards the peerless, lush parkland beyond.  The Hotel is secluded from the outside world by the trees on one side and the river Maigue on the other, the Manor just oozes old World romance.  Inside extravagant, ornate fireplaces are found in every major ground floor room, not least the Great Hall where a fire perpetually blazes. Irish oak cabinets and sideboards punctuate the walls along with coats of arms, all overlooked by the Gallery and its cryptic supporting figure.

The bedrooms are superb with arched ceilings, fireplaces, beds with carved headboards, fretwork windows and eye-catching views typical throughout the hotel. The Hotel has 34 deluxe rooms, 15 standard rooms, 4 Dunraven staterooms, 8 staterooms and 1 Presidential Suite.

The Manor has everything you could possibly want. From a romantic break with breath taking views from your room and secluded walks to  a round of golf on a championship golf course, beauty treatments in Lavender Cottage, trout fishing on the River Maique, clay pigeon shooting, archery and falconry.

Whatever your taste, find a reason to visit Adare Manor Hotel in Co.Limerick, Ireland where you will experience a truly gold class hotel experience.

On Newgate Travel's recent visit to the Adare Manor Hotel we enjoyed an extensive tour of the hotel, the golf house and restaurant and the extensive grounds and a lesson in Falconry, simply awesome!

Warm & Wonderful Irish Welcome Awaits At the Dunraven Arms

On a recent FAM visit I was fortunate to stay for a night at The Dunraven Arms Hotel, established in 1792 in Adare,Co.Limerick, Ireland is an oasis of tranquillity and one of the best hotels I have stayed in. From the moment you walk through the door of the hotel you are made to feel welcome and very much at home.

A log fire was burning in the main reception as well as one in the nearby bar.  The atmosphere was one warm and inviting. Our flight into Shannon Airport ( just 25 minutes transfer away) was a late one and we didn't arrive at the hotel until after 10pm, but it made no difference to the welcome we received. We had a choice of sandwiches and drinks in the bar before retiring to our room. The room (pictured) was first class, you could not fault it.   Huge and inviting with a massive 4 poster bed, sofa, writing desk and chair along with flat screen tv.   The hotel has a further eighty five executive rooms including interconnecting family rooms.

The bathroom was big and spacious with plenty of space for your toiletries and possessions and of course the hotel provided toiletries and wonderful big fluffly bathrobes and slippers.

The next morning we enjoyed a fabulous Irish breakfast with a huge range of choice including a hot gammon carvery in The Maigue Restaurant. The restaurant is called after the River Maigue which flows through the village of Adare, and is a winner of many restaurant Awards.

Although my visit was brief we did get the opportunity for a tour of the hotel with the wonderful charismatic Owner of the hotel, Mr Louis Murphy.    The hotel offers a range of services, both pleasure and business with the Ornate Ballroom a perfect setting for a fairlytale wedding to the purpose built conference centre which can accommodate up to 200 delegates.   The conference centre rooms are all filled with natural daylight and with a delegates package and no room hire this is the ideal base for a conference of any size.  The ballroom provides a truly magical setting for a wedding that can accommodate up to 190 seated for dinner along with fabulous lawns for a champagne reception.

But that is not all that the Dunraven Arms has to offer;  why not relax and unwind in the 17m swimming pool with therapeutic bubble jet seats, computerised gym studio and a steam room.  When you have experienced all of that, treat yourself and try out the extensive range of beauty and massage therapies available in the treatment rooms.   A truly fabulous first class hotel for  business or pleasure or combination of both!

Best Corporate Team Building - The West London Shooting School - Just 12 miles from London

The West London Shooting Schools' excellent one to one tutition is no better way to entertain clients or employees than learning a new skill as well as enjoying a shooting party or multi acitivity day at the school. And if you fancy something completely different you could try a MacNab day, in which three colleagues or clients could turn poachers in a challenge to local landowners.  You will use a shotgun in the grouse butts, learning the skills of a .270 rifle on the range and also be taught the delicate art of fly-fishing in the lake, what better way to entertain.

This fabulous School sits in 160 acres of wonderful grounds - just 12 miles from London. Newgate Travel were fortunate enough recently to visit this fabulous location and explore the grounds as well as experience the one to one expert tuition.  The grounds are perfectly set up for all types of shooting and not surprisingly has twice been voted "Best shooting ground in the country".   For entertaining clients or entertaining or team building with employees - this school has it all.
